If you are tired of the same old slice of chicken or turkey in a thousand different ways, why not try to ground it? Meatloaf is a classic popular all over the world. We decided to prepare it from less fatty meat and season it with spices and garlic. Then it’s up to you if you decide to serve it with potatoes, bread or vegetables.
Ingredients for the meatloaf:
- 800 g ground turkey breast
- 40 g breadcrumbs
- 4 cloves of garlic
- 2 eggs
- 1 onion
- 1 and ½ tsp salt
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp dried marjoram
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- ¼ tsp ground pepper
- a handful of parsley

On a cutting board, finely chop peeled onion, garlic (or you can press it) and parsley. Then put all of these in a bowl together with the turkey meat and mix it all up. Then add cumin, marjoram, salt, pepper, eggs and breadcrumbs and mix thoroughly again. The whole mixture should be compact. If it is too runny and cannot be shaped, add some more breadcrumbs. With your hands, turn the meat mixture into two oval buns and put in a baking dish with some water on the bottom.
Bake in the oven pre-heated to 180 °C for about 25 minutes. Then brush the top with oil, switch the oven to the grill function and bake for another 20 minutes until golden. Serve the finished meatloaf with some boiled potatoes, beans and parsley.
Our tip: This meat mixture can be used for other recipes. If you shape it into smaller patties, you can prepare, for example, grilled turkey burgers.
